Valentine’s Day is not only about love but also about money and business! In this time every year, all the merchants rack their brains to come up with some idea and try to attract customers — you, to buy their merchandises!

Believe it or not, in the U.S. alone, consumers spent over $18 billion dollars on Valentine’s Day in last year. Love brings business!

Advertising is hard because it try to tell people more in simple idea. But luckily, love is an universal language. A lot of clever and adorable advertising gush up in Valentine’s Day. Five are posts and five are video Here are my top ten favourite Valentine’s Day ads from the last 10 years.

1. Durex — Happy Father’s Day

Perfect tongue-in-cheek, simple and hits the theme directly.

2. Carphone Warehouse — Why Spend More?

Carphone Warehouse is a British mobile phone retailer. It offers quick comparisons on phone prices, so you can get the most bang for your buck. It may means that they are trying to save your money…

3. HelpAge India — The Elderly Need Our Love Too

HelpAge India is a non-profit dedicated to showing some respect to those who came before us. Two walking-sticks make up a heart, it reminds us that love isn’t just meant for the young.

4. Hovis Bread — Valentine’s Day

Hovis Bread is the third British company to make the list. It has incredible food photography in this beautifully simple ad, and looks so delicious.

5. McDonald’s — The Proposal

McDonald’s might not be your first choice for a romantic dinner with your sweetheart. But it probably make a more memorable Valentine’s Day.

6. Woolworths

Supermarket giant Woolworths used their own unsuspecting customers to spread the message of love. You can’t help but crack a smile watching this ad! It just tells you that you can celebrate with any kind of love you want: friends, parents, children…

7. Fans of Love

Taking advantage of the popular tradition of the Jumbotron kiss cam at American NFL games, the ad focuses on fighting bias, whether gender, cultural, racial, disability, age…

8. Omaze

Omaze is a platform for charities to raise money, and they took full advantage of the day of love to raise money for charity W.E. Can Lead. What does a date look like in kids’ eyes? Watch the ad and try not to laugh. We dare you.

9. Burger King

Burger King Israel got a little naughty with their campaign, launching an exclusive ‘Adults Meal’ only available on February 14th. Every box has a sexy item such as a blindfold or a massage toy.

10. Galaxy

Mars’ Galaxy chocolate created a dramatic ad campaign for the day of love, giving us ‘Galaxy Chase’. Cupid chases a mystery woman all over the city, shooting arrows and narrowly missing her, until finally an arrow (and a bite of chocolate) brings her face to face with her love.
