The Lake District is rated as one of the fifty places in the world by the National Geographic magazine, it is known as the most beautiful area in England. The largest lake, the highest mountain and the deepest valley in England are all here. In the Lake District, most of the lakes have been developed. Visitors can use public transportation, walking or self driving, besides some distant lakes are hardly visited, so bus transit times are not as frequent.

2. Bowness-on-Windermere is the nearest town to Windermere. It only takes about 20-minute to walk, and there are many local stone houses along the way. 3. Once again from Windermere, take the double-decker sightseeing bus 599 or cyclist about half an hour to Grasmere (Grasmere town ends), approximately 6–7 kilometers on foot around the lake.
