Spotlight on: Candytopia

Candytopia is a new pop up shop in Santa Monica that features art pieces made entry out of candy. It is a multilevel and multi room museum and each room has a theme. It comes after a trend of pop up museums in big cities including the museum of ice cream, the color factory and the happy place.

The artwork portrays original ideas as well as replicas of classic artwork like pieces from Andy Warhol, Vincent Van Gogh and others. Every room also offers free samples of candy to the patrons of the museum. More than 22,500 gummy bears and other pieces of candy were used in the creation of some of the pieces. Each piece of art also displays a calorie count if someone were to eat the artwork, some pieces totaling over 22 thousand calories!

The museum is also extremely interactive and allows guests to swing, play, jump and bounce on different installations. My personal favorite was the giant marshmallow pit you get to roll around in. It is a swimming pool sized pit filled with fake marshmallows.

This is a family friendly place I would recommend to all ages!
