Do you ever feel like you’re just in a slump? You’re doing all this work for your online store and it seems to be going nowhere? Yeah, I’ve been there too, and guess what? Every entrepreneur, every stay-at-home mom, literally everyone on this planet has had that feeling too, and anyone who denies it is lying.

It’s this time of year where everyone slowly starts to revert to their old habits and routines, which naturally causes us to feel like we’re just going through the motions every day.

Now’s the perfect time to give yourself a little reality check and strive to make the changes you’ve been wanting to make. Here are 5 useful habits to help you stay motivated with your eCommerce store.

1. Hydrate

I’m going to go ahead and assume two things.

  • You’re busy.
  • The first point on your priority list probably isn’t hydration.

Was I right? I know, I’m pretty much psychic. In all seriousness though, hydration is totally underrated, and it affects our productivity far more than expected. When we don’t drink enough water, we’re slow, we’re tired and our minds are foggy.

Is that the way you want to feel all day? #nothanks. I’m not saying water is going to magically change your life, but it sure does help focus and energy. Try meeting your daily hydration goal, and chances are, you’ll notice a difference in your mental and physical performance. Let’s hear it for H2O!

2. Wake up earlier

Rise and shine! You’re about to start waking up earlier.

Before you go ahead and hit the snooze button, just hear me out. Having that whole extra hour in the morning will change your entire outlook on the day.

I mean, waking up on time is an achievement to begin with, so you’ll already be starting the day on a good note. You’ll have the time to prioritize your day and perform your morning routines without feeling rushed. It’s not healthy to start every day with a feeling of urgency.

Waking up earlier will also help build discipline and drive, which is beneficial in other aspects of your life. Maybe you want to rebrand your shop, maybe you want to start a new workout routine. The point is, you’ll have time in the morning to sit down and really think about what you want to accomplish that day.

I’m not going to lie, the first couple mornings might be tough, but stick to it and see how your attitude changes each day.

3. Review your day

There’s nothing better than feeling like you’ve had a productive day. Whether you reached a workout goal, made some sales, even just completed a list of errands, it feels like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

Going to bed with a clear and positive mindset will not only help you sleep better, but it’ll also help you wake up with an optimistic attitude as well.

So, before you scroll through Instagram or binge your latest show before bed, take some time to write down everything you’ve accomplished throughout the day. You’ll be surprised at how motivated you’ll feel when the alarm goes off in the morning.

4. Don’t try to be motivated 100% of the time

We’re only human. We get tired, overwhelmed and bummed out sometimes. Heck, I’m sitting here pounding coffee, trying to wake up!

The point is, nobody is expecting you to be fully motivated all the time. Otherwise, you’ll burn yourself out and it’ll be harder than ever to continue anything you’ve started.

Give yourself time to reset when you’re feeling drained, and your motivation will come back before you know it!

5. Celebrate your victories, even if they’re small

When you think of a victory, what do you think of? A big win? A groundbreaking achievement?

Sure, those are accomplishments, however, we often neglect to reward ourselves for the smaller successes we have each day. Come on, give yourself a pat on the back for once!

When you decided to open an online store, making your first sale may have seemed like the first thing to celebrate, right? In reality, simply signing up was the first true step towards success. That right there, is a victory to celebrate.

Think big but take notice in the smaller things, and you’ll be motivated throughout your success journey.
