Using Spreadshop for the Greater Good

It’s no secret that you can open a Spreadshop to promote your band, brand, or business, but DID YOU KNOW… that you can open a Spreadshop to raise money for a foundation, charity, or non-profit? This is exactly what Families Belong Together is doing with their new Spreadshop.

Families Belong Together, or Familias Unididas No Divididas, is one of many organizations protesting the devastating and inhumane separation of immigrant children from their families along the US border with Mexico (THIS IS NOT OKAY, PEOPLE).

According to the Department of Homeland Security, over 2,000 children were separated from their parents between April and May.

There are events taking place through June 30 all over the country and the organization is urging cities to create additional events and find ways to participate.

As far as raising money for a nonprofit or a charitable mission is concerned, I’m a big fan of the Spreadshop initiative. What better way to support what’s important to you than by donating financially to the cause and raising awareness at the same time by literally wearing your heart (and beliefs) on the front of your shirt?

If this cause speaks to your heart like it does mine, you can donate here or attend an event near you.

Hint: There are additional events not listed on the website, so please consult with your neighbors to find out if you can participate more locally. Or, heck! Start organizing your own event today!
