Want to join your coworkers for lunch but don’t want to mess up your healthy food streak? With these 4 tips you don’t have to skip out on lunch altogether; you can stay on track and join in on the fun!

  1. Have a plan and tell someone about it. Sharing your commitment to healthy eating with a friend will help keep you accountable to yourself.
  2. Check out the menu online before you go. Knowing what you are going to order before getting to the restaurant will prevent you from acting impulsively.
  3. Make sure you have a small snack before going out to eat. This gives you more self-control which will prevent you from eating the entire bread basket, and might even stop you from ordering dessert!
  4. Take half to go — When eating out we often feel as though we need to finish our entire meal to get our money’s worth and as a result we end up feeling bloated and guilty for overeating. Instead, eat until you are satisfied and take the rest to go. Leftovers make an easy and tasty meal/snack for the next day! As an alternative, you could give your leftovers (assuming they are in good condition) to the homeless. Don’t waste food, don’t overeat, and give to the hungry if you can!

Be good this week!
