It’s that time of the year again, when we almost say goodbye to this year. It’s also the time when we at SquareBoat have our annual Hackathon. We’ve worked the whole year getting inspired by our clients’ ideas, getting amazed by new technologies the world has come up with, and wondering what Elon Musk would do next. Now’s the time we amaze the world with a piece of us.

Hackathon is a fun way for us to free our minds to come up with new ways to make use of technology to solve life problems. It needs two things to solve a problem, the problem itself and the solution of course. Since most of the solutions nowadays are based on technology, and most of the problems are based on life which is the same for all of us, we believe, that it is the web developer who best qualifies to be the entrepreneur of this age and time. Therefore, Hackathon is a way to inspire the entrepreneur in ourselves.

Hackathon is also a great way for us to know each other better. We have spent the whole year working in teams, finishing our share of the problems. It is a chance for us to work in close knit teams where every problem would be everyone’s problem. And when people spend the whole night typing code, there are usually more than one type of problems. Some people sleep while working, and some can’t sleep because they are working. Everyone stretches in their own way and that’s what makes us learn more about ourselves and others.

Additionally, it is a chance for us to potentially change the world. We all go in this Hackathon with the aim of making a product that will have an impact in people’s life. This is the reason that SquareBoat is offering the winners of this Hackathon a chance to work on their product full time. The winners and their product would be fully sponsored and incubated by SquareBoat itself.

Apart from the tech, fun and entrepreneurship aspect of this Hackathon, the major takeaway would be the inspiration that we carry on for the next year. It is this that will inspire us to make our work more technically strong than it earlier was and it is this that will shape our ideas for the next year of Hackathon.
