S | Inside Out Journal | Chapter I
We don’t know what day it is either.
The year didn’t kick off like we’d have wanted it to. There’s a lot of bad news in our feeds and we feel like we all need some positive vibes. That is exactly why we’ve created something new and fresh for you, The Inside Out Journal.
Meant to bring some happy times to your screen time, this newsletter is a blend of who all of us Squids are, and how we find joy in small things while practicing social distancing. We want to highlight the positive things happening in the world while making you laugh.
Every week you’ll get a bountiful harvest of top-notch wholesome content from the Squid Squad, in the form of our team members’ insights on what they’ve been doing to keep busy, entertained and healthy, what hilarious memes and articles they’ve found, and more…
An ongoing study within our team shows 15% of the toilet paper in a home is confiscated by cats.
Food for thought
Here’s today’s dose of good vibes.
Even penguins need a break from time to time.
How to juggle everything? Sometimes, ‘no’ is the answer.
Inside Stories
There’s light at the end of the tunnel, but until we get there, we can still enjoy some old-fashioned digital fishing.
You can even kickstart your plant parent life.
Or get in touch with your inner bookworm.
Me, Myself and I
We all have things we’ve always wanted to do but never had time for…
This is a segment we like to call “exploring the world from the comfort of your own home”.
Fast-Thinking Business
The world doesn’t just stop because we’re all at home. Some businesses have been completely overturning and reinventing their production lines in order to lend a hand to those in need today.
Others have been coming up with clever solutions with tech we already have on hand.
Let us pick your brain.
There’s a TED talk that has been holding up well over the years, that’s come to our minds recently. Researchers found that your mental patterns could be harming you. In people with cynical hostility, their body’s stress response was basically broken from overuse, over time. Same goes for pessimism or rumination (reliving problems over and over) and its counterpart, thought suppression (pushing back problems). As people spend more time inside and oftentimes alone, there is a tendency to exaggerate these tendencies.
We know it can be hard sometimes, but try to be kind to yourself in these challenging times.
