Thorns and Roses
A fine misty evening
The skies still dreaming
Leaves swaying with the gale
Birds chirping in full scale.
We, a cluster, stood staring
At the caves, so whopping;
I was told to be there
As one among the horde,
I was told to take the same trail
Or I might be someone pale,
I was told to steer my temper
And values to remember.
I recalled the warmth of my father
The tender love of my mother
I reminisced the days with them
Memories which remain as a gem.
Now, I am left at the onset
Not alone, not to fret;
There I stood in an array
About to make our way,
To the paths we’re destined
Mind and spirits combined,
With fear of stones I might stumble upon
But the zeal to explore new dawns.
Together we started off
Moved distances quick enough
Days spent with delight
Got the uncos dear to heart.
We found joy in friendship
Souls to share our hardship;
Frolic all the way long
Yes, we did go wrong,
Only to learn and rise
Forward, with open eyes,
Met with hurdles for setbacks
To give strong comebacks.
Arrived at paths to split
To walk alone with grit
Aided by the unexpected ones
Towards a major turn.
The path seemed crooked
Ways to get confused;
Left with chances, not choices
Just to leave further with guts,
Thoughts to leave and walk back
Smashed by believing in tales,
Of hard times and success.
Pulled down and pushed away
Not to quit but to make a new way
One day, this journey will end
Thereafter, not to transcend.
But to adore for who we are
Pride on coming this far;
Through the dark unknown paths:
To decode some mysteries
To cherish some memories
To hold some bonds
To find ourselves…
