Unmanned aerial vehicle technology was introduced 170 years before, pretty hard to believe, but it’s true. The very first UAV was seen in 1849, an unmanned balloon filled with explosives, when Austrian soldiers attacked the city of Venice with it. Since then, the technology has reached the heights, and currently, many scientists are working on the field to get some more relics in this battle.

MODERN HISTORY:

UAV Technology improved in world war 2, when the countries were spending millions of dollars on it. In this tech battle, a name fired up; MQ-1 Predator. This Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) technology shell shocked the globe, after which the actual fight started. There are numerous operations which were headed by this teach beast. The Balkans, Afghanistan, Iranian, Syrian and many other operations were led by this RPA.

MODERN ERA:

The very first non-military drone was used in 2006. Since then, many countries have started using drones for commercial purposes. Many UAV’s came into the battle. We all know, no one can beat the aura of the best one. If we talk about, the best drone invention till date, the only name which comes in the mind is DJI Mavic 2 Pro. This drone is considered as an All In One Drone.

DJI Mavic 2 Pro:

DJI pulled out this technology, which is considered as one of the most advanced technology in the field of drones. Mavic 2 Pro can stay airborne for more couple of minutes and can fly at a faster rate. The only noticeable improvements are better sensing abilities and a better camera.

Mavic 2 Pro is considered as a great improvement to the Mavic. Whether it is flight time, flight speed, obstacle sensing, intelligent flight modes and its unique hyper-lapse feature, creates the difference.

SPECS:

  • Active track 2.0 software is used to trace the moving objects autonomously.
  • OcuSync 2.0, latest video transmission technology of DJI.
  • Better environmental sensing system.
  • Inch CMOS sensor- four times more effective sensor.
  • Adjustable aperture
  • Max video Bit rate:100 Mbps.
  • Pixels: 20 million.

Maximum flight time for this drone is 31 minutes, with no wind at the speed of 15.5 mph. Mavic 2 Pro uses both GPS and GLONASS, so that the quadcopter is connected to quite a few satellites. The dual satellite system helps in assessing the obstacles and waypoints. This drone can withstand the wind speeds up to 24 mph.

Around six camera sensors are located at the nose of the drone, at the rear end and underside. The main components of the Upward and Downward Infrared Sensing Systems are 2 x 3D infrared modules located on the top and underside of the Mavic 2 quadcopter.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

RETURN TO HOME-

Smart RTH: Initiated by the Pilot

Low-battery RTH: RTH feature is triggered if the battery is drained till a point, after which it automatically sets back the last home location.

Failsafe RTH: The forward Vision allows a real-time map of its route.

These are features which in the end help the drone in coming home back safe.

MODES-

P Mode (Positioning): Best works when GPS signals are strong, GPS and vision system helps in locating itself.

S Mode (Sport): In this mode, the drone flies at its maximum speed.

T Mode (Tripod): In this mode, the flight speed is limited, which helps in stabilizing the drone at higher altitudes.

Other than these, we have modes like trace, spotlight and parallel mode which further help in the movement to the drone.

PROS:

  • Multiple Panorama modes.
  • Faster speed.
  • Low latency.
  • Hyperlight.
  • Enhanced HDR Photos.
  • Adjustable Aperture.
  • Hasselblad camera.

CONS:

  • Hyperlapsed feature is not stabilized. And is limited to 1080p.
  • Pretty costly.

USES:

There are many industries where this drone can be used. This drone is best for activities like, site surveying, 3D-mapping, rescuing, marketing purposes and to shoot any commercial. There are numerous sectors where this drone can contribute. Omni-directional obstacle detection helps this drone in sensing in all the directions.

CONCLUSION:

Drone technology is getting better day by day, and this drone is just a one step forward to the achievements. Overall this drone has all those features which make him different from others.

Tech lovers won’t stop here, it’s a long run. Hoping for some great inventions.
