When a student joins a new institution, they tend to wander and explore the different ventures in and around the campus. All of us look for an outlet, creative or educational. Every new student wants to carve a niche for himself, find a passion that trains them to face the world. Every new student looks for opportunities to learn new skills, explore new ventures and possibly find a calling .

SCRO is one of the places that cover all the bases. SCRO in itself is a journey for so many while others find their destination here. It is a common instance, that the teammates we once weren’t even familiar, are now friends who will back us and someone we lean on. A day at SCRO starts in the midst of the chaos that is college life. Tired, over-loaded people come to BEL, and there they see their reflection. And then suddenly, everything seems right. Nothing seems bad anymore. Familiar people in identical situations is like that cold drink on a bad day. The conversations stirred up next are like those journal entries you will one day look at and smile. Come dive in this beautiful ridge as we share #LifeAtSCRO with you.

Meet Vamsi, who tells tales of SCRO like nobody else and shares experiences that all of us love to witness! He is goofier and funnier than most of the ‘Techies’ you’ll ever come across, or maybe more. He sometimes messes around the machines we build. But most importantly, he enjoys his work as much as all of us enjoy his company!

Learning is not restricted to workshops meetings and technicalities. One learns through different methodologies. When you think of a technical club like ours, the first few things that might strike your minds would be work, workshops, meetings & boredom.
But, in reality, there is camaraderie, there is fun. In these pictures, you see Chitransh playing (wink…wink…) GTA. He is teaching the control of Drones in a very playful manner. That is essentially the essence of this team.

Well, it is not all fun and play. There is always learning, sometimes in its truest essence. We have student mentors like Vamsi here. They are trained, experienced, ready to impart every single ounce of knowledge they have so painstakingly acquired. The members are just as sincere as the mentor. It is a wonderful sight to behold as we see knowledge in its full glory.

Months of research goes into making one single piece of the hardware components. Various different methods, brain storming sessions, numerous night stays and hundreds of ideas later, practical application begins. Experimenting with materials is a job well done at SCRO. The effort finally shows in the components we assemble to finally make a drone.

Wait, but nothing ends here.

The drone might be ready, but the process of flying is still some nights away. Simulations, tests, changes in codes are yet to be made and the team is just getting started. A brainstorming session is a common occurrence here. These sessions aren’t limited to just the technical domains. While the technical domain keep researching and making innovations, the corporate domain works on launching events, media campaigns. These guys also bring in Sponsors for the team, write content to present to the audience. The technical domain is the basis of the team while the corporate domain is the backbone of the team.

Once the tests are run, errors are rectified, the moment of truth comes. The moment in which the drone flies (or not… rarely happens) is the moment all the hard work is quantized.

It is like a wild little dream come true when the drone flies and you can have a bird view of the campus on that miniature screen. It is a fulfilling scene to witness all the hard work pay off. The smiles at the end, the hand shakes are a sign from the universe, of the dedication and passion of the team.

At the end of the day, the team is all that matters. It is the spirit of the team that matters. The demographic and the team dynamic is of utmost importance here. At the end of the day, the team pictures are the most precious memories every member carries.

What’s a team without a team picture, right?

We certainly do hope that you enjoyed this as much as we did sharing it with you! #LifeAtSCRO is a wonderful experience and one worth sharing!
