Sassoon Dock Art Project was conceived in early 2016. What followed was rigorous research, multiple Bombay trips, running around for permissions and a lot of hard work by the entire team. Nearly a year and a half later, the Sassoon Dock Art Project has come to life.

The pop up experiential exhibition houses the work of over 30 Indian and International artists. Spanned over a month and a half, the festival also includes workshops, screenings, curated tours, music and dance performances, Bboy battles and a lot more exciting activities.

We opened on the 11th of November and over the weekend, we had a large number of wonderful people come in, and experience the project that the St+art team put so much heart and soul into.

For our opening weekend, we had a dance performance by women from the Banjaraa community, which was followed by a music performance by Ankur Tewari and Sidd Coutto. Close to 3000 people showed up over the opening weekend. Our mission is that art should be for all, and we couldn’t be more grateful to all you beautiful people for showing up in numbers and helping us make this possible. Here are some images from our opening weekend! We have a lot more coming. Stay tuned.
