The Yok and Sheryo’s ‘Varuna Vessel’

Artist duo The Yok and Sheryo are originally from Australia and Singapore, respectively. For the Sassoon Dock Art Project, they created ‘Varuna Vessel’ an installation and three murals that draws a parallel between the importance of boats to fishermen and Lord Varuna’s relationship with his vessel, Makara.

Speaking about their experience at Sassoon Dock Art Project, they say

Sheryo : “We met so many incredible people from the team at St+art India to the bartender at the Dive bar near Sassoon Dock, and Ravi who helped find a boat for the installation. We’ve been so incredibly lucky beyond words”
