The number of projects deploying on StackOS is growing rapidly! We get a lot of feedback from developers from all around the world and that is what it is all about. Listening to users and build an amazing solution to all the problems they experience or ways to make their life as developers easier. Today we made a good-size update to the platform:

1. Multiple port support (internal) for containers.

Pods can now start to expose multiple ports to talk between pods. Before today’s update apps that needed multiple port support were limited by it. From today onwards you can start running zookeeper and nodes in clustered mode. These will soon be available publicly as well!

2. Phase 1: Multichain enablement

We started the development of supporting multiple chains for StackOS’ decentralized cloud protocol. Once Phase 2 is finished, it will give us the ability to add new chains, you can now potentially guess why we recently did a poll

3. Added PKT node to the app store

Some community members reached out to us with the request of adding PKT nodes to our App Store making one-click PKT node deployments possible. PKT node has been added to the AppStore but will show as “coming soon” since currently the CPU is limited to 4 cores, soon upwards of 10 core machines will be supported and the app will be enabled, please look out for our next update.

4. Added Discord link to the homepage

Developers can now reach out for quick help on Discord when they are in the middle of a deployment. We are trying to build our Discord group, so please join it and support our efforts.

5. TXT record name changed to specific subdomain

Now each Subdomain can have its own verification, instead of a global verification. Documentations for these are also updated.

6. Compute reduction lock, when compute is in use

When compute is being used by a launched application, the compute can’t be lowered below the utilized threshold.

7. Invalid environment crash protection for the UI

There were cases when certain environment variables caused the UI to throw errors, which needed refreshing of the page. It now is able to detect these issues and internally resolve them.

Thank you to all the developers deploying on StackOS to ask for the above feature requests and making the platform more resilient for future users.

About StackOS

StackOS is a cross-chain open protocol that allows individuals and organizations to share their computing resources and collectively offer a decentralized cloud; where developers around the world can deploy any full-stack application, decentralized app, blockchain private nets, and main net nodes.

We aim to provide the world with “The Unstoppable Infrastructure Protocol”, which will allow any person across the world to deploy their application without incurring heavy cloud management costs and freely run any application they wish to run. StackOS furthermore intends to help brick and mortar businesses around the globe, to go online cost-effectively and securely with minimal technical overhead.
