2022Q4 Roadmap — Optimize and Scale rToken Solutions to New
Q3 Review
Crypto developers may be dormant during the recent market slump. However, there are many new opportunities for innovators in recent days.
The market was mostly volatile in Q3 2022. However, StaFi did not stop building. One of the main priorities in last quarter was StaFiHub (Cosmos Ecosystem Liquid Staking Protocol), was successfully launched including its Liquidity Kit (rPool, rDEX, etc.). Moreover, three new rTokens: rATOM, rIRIS and rHUAHUA have been launched on StaFiHub’s Mainnet.
During the same period, Smart Delegation Strategy V2, rETH V2, rBridge V2 and rToken App V4 have been updated with a new roadmap, where the election strategy has been optimized with rETH’s validator matching method in addition to the existing one. In September, rETH V2 was audited by Peckshield. The product’s front-end is currently being tested and will be launched soon.
StaFi’s product planning arrangement will include molding StaFi into a Multi-Chain Liquid Staking Protocol. Our team has integrated over 10 Liquid Staking Solutions on multiple different chains. StaFi Protocol aims to further evolve into a plug-and-play liquid staking solution that bridges more PoS ecosystems.
There is much to be expected in Q4.
Smart Delegation Strategy V2
Smart Delegation Algorithm V2 will be firstly adopted on StaFiHub. We have already collected the on-chain data of validators and have verified the algorithm. Data modeling will be carried out preliminarily in the near future. V2 will significantly change the existing commission mechanism of liquid staking, which will further enhance decentralization of the target chain and provide higher APY to stakers.
rETH V2 and V2.1
Through the Merge, Ethereum was officially converted from PoW to PoS. The rETH V2 upgrade includes network optimizations from rETH V1. One of the main features of the upgrade was the modification of the validator matching method. We have split the validators into Solo Validators and Trusted Validators. Both can be validated by rETH V2. For more details, please refer to this article.
rETH V2.1 is an upgrade based on the upcoming Ethereum Shanghai Upgrade, which will mainly optimize the rewards and penalties for validators and highlights the responsibilities and obligations of different validators. After the upgrade, the authority and responsibility between Validators, Stakers and Protocol will be more clearly defined.
rBridge V2 and rToken App V4
rBridge V2 is used to allow the transfer of optimize the cross-chain requirements of $FIS and $rTokens in different ecosystems. Considering that $FIS is currently the Native Token of both StaFi Chain and StaFiHub, and that $FIS also supports protocol standards such as ERC20 and SPL, StaFi Core Team decided to reconfigure the entire rBridge system in order to better adapt to the current development needs. Meanwhile, rToken also has this requirement, in addition to the mainstream cross to Ethernet needs, but also need to support IBC cross-chain protocols, etc. rBridge V2 update will better meet the cross-chain needs of multiple chains. The following are some of the demos.
After taking into consideration that $FIS is currently the Native Token of both StaFi Chain and StaFiHub as well as support protocol standards such as ERC20 and SPL, the StaFi Core Team has decided to revamp the entire rBridge system in order to better adapt to the current developer needs. Meanwhile, rToken also has this requirement, in addition to the mainstream cross to Ethernet needs, but also need to support IBC cross-chain protocols, etc. rBridge V2 update will better meet the cross-chain needs of multiple chains. The following are some of the demos. rTokens will need to support IBC Cross-Chain Protocols and others in the future, hence, rBridge V2 will need to be updated to better serve the cross-chain needs of multiple chains. Please find some demo screenshots attached below.
The rToken App V4 requires multiple modules to be upgraded such as the rBridge V2 and rETH V2 before it is able to roll out with a new UI/UX and features. The update of rToken App V4 has been delayed to Q4. Please find the product demo attached below.
New Explorations
In addition to the updates above, StaFi Core Team will explore the following upgrades:
1.rDEX V2 — Exploring an improved UI/UX
2.New rToken — rAPTOS, rSUI possibilities and integrations with the Move ecosystem
3.Onboard — StaFiHub’s new exploration in the Cosmos ecosystem
4.rToken LaunchPad — A new way of marketing
Additionally, the development of Ledger integration for FIS has been completed and is queued to be merged.
The Journey of Liquid Staking
When the market becomes bearish, Staking is the safest, most stable way to generate interest for holders with the highest yield. There have been new staking service providers seen often in the news (Coinbase, Binance, etc) as well as new protocols (there are many Liquid Staking protocols popping up on Cosmos), hence, StaFi Protocol is under a lot of competitive pressure.
Starting in 2019, StaFi entered the Liquid Staking space, understanding that this is a long journey that takes time, with new PoS Chains and Layer1s being constantly updated and new Liquid Staking being added to accompany them, it seems like an endless road.
StaFi Protocol has gained an abundance of experience in this field and knows that the solution needed is a Liquid Staking architecture, i.e. a universal solution, not one or two solutions, and not a horizontal scalable solution with no replicability. Thus, StaFi Protocol will keep striving to be a universal architecture for Liquid Staking Protocol. Let’s witness it together.
We will continue working as hard as we can during the bear market to perfect our multi-chain liquid staking network based on StaFi’s core robust product and tech capabilities, we believe that this journey will be tough but promising. We would like to keep thanking our partners and users for supporting us and will keep building our product in the meantime.
About StaFi
StaFi is the first DeFi protocol unlocking liquidity of staked assets. Users can stake PoS tokens through StaFi and receive rTokens in return, which are available for trading, while still earning staking rewards. rToken is a synthetic staking derivative issued by StaFi to users when users stake PoS tokens through StaFi rToken App . rTokens are anchored to the PoS tokens staked by users and the corresponding staking rewards. rTokens can be transferred and traded at any time.
