We’ve already had a manual about how to use Solflare wallet website. Since we’ve published it, it has been updated and also there is now an extension for it in Google chrome. Today, we will show you how to use an extension and show new website things.

Solflare wallet

1.If you’re new to Solflare, go to the https://solflare.com/ and click ‘Access’

Then you should click ‘create new wallet’. If you already have a wallet, then you can use mnemonic, ledger or keystore file to open it.

Create a password

Then, there will be a mnemonic, which you should write down and save in secure offline space. you can also download a backup. Don’t forget that these words are needed to get access to your wallet. Do not show them to anyone!

Write down words and in the next step write them in order they appear to verify.

That’s it, welcome to the main page of your Solflare wallet. Use your wallet address to send or receive tokens. At the top of the page you can see options. You can stake tokens, swap them or collect NFT.

2.To start staking click on ‘start staking’ and enter the amount you want to stake. Don’t forget to leave some tokens to pay the fee. Find our validator by writing its name. Click “stake’ and confirm the transaction. Done! Remember that delegated SOL will start receiving rewards after the end of epoch (~2–3 days).

When you delegate or un-delegate a stake account, the tokens do not change state immediately. Newly delegated tokens are considered “activating” or “warming up”, and are not eligible to earn rewards until they are fully activated. Newly un-delegated tokens are considered “deactivating” or “cooling down” and are not able to be withdrawn until deactivated. All information about staking $SOL you can read here: https://solana.com/staking

Solflare extension

To use the Solflare extension, download it from the Google Chrome store and install it. To open your wallet enter the password. The extension has the same option as the website just in a smaller window. As we think it’s more convenient if you want to have quick access to your wallet, you can open it immediately through the menu of your extensions without clicking on the link to the site. But note that if you log out on the website, it will automatically log out in the extension.

Phantom wallet

Another option where you can stake your $SOL is Phantom wallet. It’s also an extension for the Google Chrome browser and looks very similar to the Solflare extension. It’s very simple, to create your Phantom wallet, you should click on ‘create new wallet’, save your recovery phrase and create a password. after receiving some tokens on it, so start staking click on ‘Solana’ and then on ‘Start earning SOL’

Find our validator

Click on the name, enter the amount of tokens you want to stake and that’s it!
