Our Summary of February 2020

Main focus in February was building Blend and fundraising for StakerDAO. Based on the research Christian Arita has done on Tezos, Cosmos, Algorand, Cardano and Decred - the Blend basket started to mold, and with it the first proposal on Blend.

Christian Arita, our Product Lead, presented at UC Santa Barbara with Sherwin Dowlat, Portfolio Manager at Polychain Capital.
They talked to students about- Shifting from Traditional to Decentralized Finance.

On February 7th, 2020, 43 bakers spanning across 13 different countries made their way to Vienna, Austria to convene and hold a Bakers Summit.
Jonas Lamis also traveled to Vienna to participate in this Bakers Summit to connect with bakers from around the world, and present the plans for StakerDAO. You can read the full recap here.

Proposal 002 — “Launch Blend (BLND)” was submitted by the Ops Team and is approved by the StakerDAO Council majority.
The primary purpose of this proposal was to introduce Blend (BLND) to the community, evaluate its merits, and approve its launch. The secondary purpose was the ratification of Shaishav Todi and Spencer Noon as Council members.
