Going Above and Beyond

As it seems to be everywhere, we thought some interesting insights from the BYND quarterly report may make good reading.

Beyond announced that it would be opening its arms to more investors by issuing another 250K shares in addition to the existing 3 million being sold down by longer term (VC) investors. Some others investors and analysts are suspicious of the timing and have voiced their concerns — you can follow the commentary here in this Fortune article.

FYI — You’ll be reading more about BYND a little bit lower…so read on.

NYC Trip

The Stake interns have made their way to Wall St. As you read this on your Thursday Morning commute, the trio are probably lost somewhere in Hell’s Kitchen on their way back to Williamsburg. Of course we’re visiting the various stock and commodity exchanges, catching a Yankees game, grabbing hot dogs, going to MOMA and hitting up our favourite Aussie-NYC cafe Merriweather run by Pete G, a good friend of Stake. What else should we do on this trip? Reply and let us know.

Introducing

There’s an ETF for anything and everything. While it’s just off making any most traded lists, LEMB is right up there with our most popular ETFs.

LEMB: iShares J.P. Morgan EM Local Currency Bond ETF

The iShares issued, JP Morgan backed bond gives traders exposure to emerging market currencies through Emerging Market bonds — including Brazilian Reals, South African Rand, Uruguayan Pesos. After adding 8.5% since the beginning of the year, with low volatility, you can see why it is particularly popular with investors.

Like your ETFs. We’ll be doing an ETF special next week. Stay tuned.

Some other new stocks just landed PAYS, MAXR, MDLA & BOOM and a nickel ETN JJN (check out its recent moves…..)

What I’m trading — Pete

Want to know what new traders have in their portfolio? Check out this month’s What I’m trading by Pete, the training manager at Ordermentum, a Sydney based foodtech start-up. Pete finally gave in to his mates around him, who kept talking stocks and markets all day long. In July, Pete jumped in head first. You can read what he’s learning, trading and reading here.

Best Buy & Best Sell

If the market was a person, it’s diet in July would definitely have been plant based meat. Not only the most popular stock for the month, it also won the best buy and sell this week.

Vegans and vegetarians may have known about this stock for a while, regardless, they would have been doing high 5’s seeing their stocks jump up… until the quarterly report came through.

Best BUY | BYND

One customer’s first trade on Stake, was buying BYND at $168.34 and saw the stock jump by over 35% over the next few days. With a rough report, here’s to hoping they managed the exit as well as this next trader……

Best SELL | BYND

Sometimes, even when you’re long plant based meat, there is still a moment you’re going to get meat sweats. With a disappointing quarterly released after market on Monday (US time), the stock fell 12.32% on Tuesday. There were lots of exiting trades on Stake on Friday (after it made all time highs), but to the trader who jumped out and sold ~$38K of stock at $237.64, a huge congrats. An epic sell at just under BYND’s all time high of $239.71

Competition winner

We love getting feedback from you guys..we couldn’t split these two, so have joint winners sharing the glory. Here they are:

“S is for the way you sell to me T is for the way you trade overseas A is actually very, UX extraordinary K is knowing more about investing than I did before and E is everything you give to us, Stake, is the online trading site I trust Stake is where I learn, please Take my money for a high return And STAKE, is made for all AussieeesMadeleine S

We’re a sucker to flattery and loved the play on Stake. Thank you Madeleine!

What Stake offers to an investor is 5/5. Free brokerage, partial shares to the biggest stock market with reasonable foreign currency fees. There is great value with the service and maybe they could look into expanding into new stock markets. As for the app, it UX could be more smoother. It takes some time for charts to load. “Kevin X”

Well Kevin we’ve decided to take your feedback on-board and we’ll be improving our charts. Stay tuned!

We’re keen to hear your thoughts, don’t be shy!
