Validator Status Bot by Stakewolle
Today we’re pleased to introduce you Telegram bot that checks if there is a problem with your validator.
As you know, sometimes validators get into an inactive set or even jailed. This happens for various reasons, which we have to figure out.
Inactive validator
The inactive set is the list of validators that don’t have enough delegations to be included in the active set, and as such, they don’t earn rewards while inactive. Therefore, you don’t receive these rewards either. Also it is possible to delegate to an inactive validator to help them enter the active set.
Jailed validator
Validators are jailed for having too much downtime, or for double signing blocks. Validators that miss 10,000 or more blocks are jailed and slashed for downtime. The slashing penalty is just 0.01%. That means you lose 0.01% of your tokens that are staked with the jailed validator.
The slashing penalty for double signing blocks is 5% and now you know what does it mean to you. Would you agree that in any case it is unpleasant to lose tokens, especially if it is not your fault?
To avoid situations when, for one reason or another, you find out late that your validator is not active or has been jailed, we have created a bot. There is no need for manually tracking for your validator’s status, because bot updates every 3 hours and it will notify you if there is a problem.
How to use the bot
The first step is to activate bot.
/manage opens menu, where you can add new wallet or remove an unnecessary one.
/list will show all added wallets. You can use it if you’re not sure that all needed wallets are added.
Take into account that bot will send you notifications about your jailed/inactive validator every 3 hours until you redelegate your funds to another validator.
That’s all. No unnecessary actions, the bot will not spam you with messages, only important notifications! We hope that our bot will make your interaction with Cosmos ecosystem more convenient.
