Polygon rolls out EIP-1559 style transactions on the mainnet

Just like how Ethereum moved towards EIP-1559 last year to introduce fee burning to its transactions, Polygon has also deployed this fee upgrade to its protocol as of block 23,850,000 at 3am UTC on Jan 18 2022, which will result in several improvements:
