Our app tops the charts on Google Play Store in just a week after launch
The Kpop Quiz app was launched on the Google Play store on November 30th, 2019. It is a simple trivia app with content that is strongly relevant to Kpop fans. This app was merely a quick test to showcase the strength of fandom and how a tight-knit community can be impactful to viral growth.
To kickstart the app’s growth, we ran a quick user acquisition campaign targeting the Kpop audience, one of the critical fandom groups for Stan World. As expected, this tight-knit target audience generated not only a high volume of installs at low cost, but also created a network effect on our UA campaign, engaging with our ads by sharing, commenting, and providing positive feedback. This highly engaged audience ultimately created a viral loop as our campaign reached the target audiences’ peers and also captured their interest in the app.
This quick test demonstrates the power of fandom and how catering to the fan’s needs is critical to growth. This is just the first step in reaching our goal of tapping into multiple fandoms and their desire of connecting with other people with similar interests in a virtual reality platform. This was just a trivia, but imagine if users can “walk-in” to a game center, play this game, “hop into” another game after finishing, then discussing what they just went through with other friends in the lobby, inside a virtual world.
