Capturing Time in a Bottle
Standard Time presents its first original product.
At Standard Time, we have an obsession with Time. Sure, it’s right there in our name, but it’s also in our DNA. As a small agency, it perturbs us to see how big agencies and big brands waste time. It’s common to hear complaints about wasting money, but money is a renewable resource. Time isn’t.
We believe we can do more with the time we have. Brands can no longer buy their customers’ time. The modern consumer has become savvy enough to sidestep their so-called “disruption.” A quick swipe past an ad in your Instagram feed is the same as skipping that million dollar primetime spot on your DVR. In 2017, we know how to protect our time. If your brand hasn’t earned it, it’s not getting a piece of it.
And that brings us to “Time Bottle,” our first product totally conceived, designed and produced by Standard Time. Hydration is something that we’re constantly aware of when we think about physical fitness, but also quite important for mental fitness. As we go through each day at our agency working out our minds — an onslaught of ideating, meetings and screen-staring — we make sure we’re doing what’s best for our bodies.
Water has been used to measure time since 4000 BCE. It makes sense to us. Time is a lot like water. Both cleanse all wounds. Both heal hangovers. Both are not to be wasted.
Our Time Bottle is built for the desk. Inspired by the simple standards of design set forth by Pyrex, we’ve created measurements to be followed from sun-up to sun-down. With four fill-ups throughout the day, you’ll get approximately (depending on your weight) the right amount of water intake for a day.
But most importantly, it’s a reminder to make every second count. To drink up as much as you can every single day. If it’s our job to make sure our content isn’t wasting people’s time, making sure we aren’t wasting our own is a damn good place to start.
