Best of February
Our picks in and around LA for the best of February
LA Art Book Fair
From cool LA-inspired photography and screen-printed penis posters to anti-Trump pins and zines about potatoes, you never know what you’re going to see at this indie art book fair. Held at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in LA’s Little Tokyo, we battled the crowds to get inspired by fearless creators, people watch and snag some cool new books for our coffee tables. Special thanks to Printed Matter for putting this on.
Melissa McCarthy as “Spicy” Sean Spicer on SNL
There is really only one word to describe it: Legendary. If you have not seen it, go watch it. Now.
Brian Sharp at 356 Mission Rd
Check out Brian Sharp’s exhibition now on view at 356 Mission. We had the pleasure of attending the opening night and getting a tour of the expansive space. Read the artist’s interview here.
The Standard Time Water Bottle
We’re proud to introduce “Time Bottle,” our first product totally conceived, designed and produced by Standard Time. Our Time Bottle is built for the desk. Inspired by the simple standards of design set forth by Pyrex, we’ve created time-based liquid measurements to be followed from sun-up to sun-down. With four fill-ups throughout the day, you’ll get approximately (depending on your weight) the right amount of water intake for a day. Stay tuned for how you can get one for yourself.
The Super Bowl. Wow.
Last but not least, the Super Bowl. And we’re not talking about New England’s improbable comeback. As of late, we’ve heard a lot of trashing of agencies, and diversity issues that agencies and marketing departments face is real issue that needs to be addressed. But it was nice to see so many thought provoking messages on immigration and equality at a time of great divide in the US. Great work from brave brands Budweiser, 84 Lumber, Airbnb, and Audi.
