They say that when you face difficulty or adversity in life, you have a choice. You can either let it destroy you, define you, or develop you.

Star in Starting Over is a publication featuring the stories and ideas behind these choices.

Do you have a story about starting again? Something that happened that blew up what you thought your future looked like and required a rethink? A time where you had to leave behind who you were to move forward to who you would become? What did you do? What happened next? What did you learn?

We’re looking for original stories — yours or others — told as compelling narratives that move us and teach us something about what it means to be resilient. We’re also looking for well-researched ideas that point the way from the tough stuff to growth.

Perhaps funny. Perhaps poignant. Perhaps it was less a moment and more a reckoning with something you thought you’d long dealt with. As painful as some of these times can be, it’s through the failures and the heartaches that we truly learn and grow. Show us how you felt and what it taught you.

Pieces should be ready for publication and free from spelling and grammatical errors. There is no specification for length, but the story should suit the space it takes up.
