Star Wars Weekly
Week ending March 22nd, 2014
Introduction
Finally, we have some news on the Episode VII front. The entire reason why the Star Wars Weekly was created this was to sift the wheat from the chaff, literally separate what is useful or valuable from what is worthless. So thank you for reading and as always if you have suggestions, just let us know.
Episode VII News
From the official site:
Disney and Lucasfilm are excited to announce that principal photography on Star Wars: Episode VII, directed by J.J. Abrams, will commence May 2014, and will be based at London’s historic Pinewood Studios.
Along with that, at the bottom of the post it says:
It has also been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces. No further details on casting or plot are available at this time.
R2D2 will be there
It was also re-confirmed here that R2D2 will be appearing in Episode VII by Disney chief Robert Iger during a call with analysts.
Episode VII to IMAX
From the official IMAX site:
We are thrilled to announce that IMAX and Disney have teamed up to present several upcoming blockbusters including Star Wars: Episode VII and Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Update — Star Wars Weekends
From the Official Disney site:
For the first time in event history, Mark Hamill, the actor who brought Luke Skywalker to the silver screen in the Star Wars saga, will appear at Star Wars Weekends. Hamill will be one of the celebrity guests for Weekend IV, June 6-8, 2014. Fans can see him in the daily “Legends of the Force” Star Wars-themed motorcade and in a featured talk show.
Update — The Old Republic MMO
Big news on the gaming front too, from the SWTOR official site:
As the war between the Empire and the Republic rages, the galaxy’s greatest heroes have expanded their influence by acquiring Strongholds, customizable bastions of personal luxury. In a bid for power, these heroes must also join together to launch their own Guild Flagships.
Customize and expand your Strongholds to show off the power of your Legacy in the new Free-to-Play Star Wars: The Old Republic Digital Expansion, Galactic Strongholds.
