Stargaze Testnet: Bellatrix-1

Stargaze is ready to for it’s first incentivized testnet!

The goal of this testnet is to get validators familiar with the type of operations they would have to perform running a validator for Stargaze mainnet.

Genesis token allocations will correspond to points earned during testnets.

All phases will last approximately 1–2 weeks.

Phase 1: Genesis (250 points)

Gentx submission: March 18–22rd 1500 UTC

Genesis file release: March 22th 1600 UTC

Network start time: March 23rd 1600 UTC — 50 points for everyone that brings up their node in the first block

Challenge 1: Basics (100 points)

• Send 1 STARX to another validator — 10 points
• Tweet about Stargaze and send a tx with it linked in the memo field. Make sure to mention @starthistweet. — 40 points
• Withdraw rewards — 25 points
• Re-delegate rewards — 25 points

Challenge 2: Upgrade proposal (100 points)

• Vote on upgrade
• Perform upgrade
• First 10 teams to sign the upgrade block will get 100 points each
• Other teams that participated will get 20 points each
• Note: Only validators that voted for the proposal are eligible for this rewards

Gentx submissions from Github accounts newer than 3 months and accounts with no history will not be accepted. We reserve the right to exercise our best judgement to protect the network against Sybil attacks. Preference will be given to validators with a proven track record of validating for other networks.

Phase 2: Let’s Curate (250 points)

This phase will focus on interacting with end user modules and IBC.

Challenge 1: Interact with modules (250 points)

• Curation: submit a post transaction with a content body
• Curation: upvote the above post
• Curation: upvote another validator’s post
• Staking: stake on post

Phase 3: Inter-blockchain Communication (200 points)

This phase will test sending a message from one blockchain to another via Cosmos IBC: https://ibcprotocol.org.

• Perform an IBC transaction

Bonus Rewards

Uptime

• 2000 points will be distributed among validators that never miss a block
• uptime > 99%, 1000 points will be distributed among all eligible validators
• uptime > 98%, but < 99%, 500 points will be distributed among all eligible validators

Never jailed (2000 points)

• Points for validators that never get jailed distributed among all validators

Community reward (100 points)

• 10 teams / individuals that contribute docs, help resolve issues, and contribute code will receive 100 points each.
