Behind the Scenes of D-Railed with Actress Robyn Dennis

Robyn Dennis started her acting career in Colorado with the prestigious Wilhelmina Agency where she booked many industrials and independant movies. When she felt she had exhausted her opportunities in the Colorado area, she finally made the move to Los Angeles five years ago.

She signed with a small boutique agency but found it was a challenge being a small fish in a big pond. She decided to take a break from acting for two years to earn her certification as a yoga teacher. When she decided to return to acting, she booked her first audition out of the gate as an abused woman coincidentally named Robin and was flown to Tennessee for principal photography.

Currently, Dennis is a part of the fantasy/thriller, “D-Railed,” starring sci-fi icon Lance Henricksen. “D-Railed” is currently on the film festival circuit and has won many awards including five Platinum from the International Independent Film Awards in the following categories: Concept, Costumes, Sound Design/Editing, Cinematography and Directing. It has been nominated for Best Practical FX at the PDXtreme film festival in January.

What were the challenges of shooting D-Railed?

The timeframe was the most challenging. I would arrive on set at 6:30 p.m. and they would have breakfast ready on set and then we would shoot until 6:30 a.m.

How did you prepare for the role?

I drank a lot of coffee! Some of it was improv, so it was kind of on the fly.

I was told you were also involved in helping with D-Railed behind the scenes. How did you like working behind the camera?

I enjoyed being part of the post-production process. I learned a lot about all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, and I am thrilled that we are being accepted into more film festivals and that we are winning awards!
