Every six months, Chris Dukes of Dukes Wealth Management makes a point to give back to the community in meaningful ways. This February, he chose to become the highlighted sponsor for The Suzanne DeLaurentiis Pre-Oscar Gifting Suite, where many celebrities and Hollywood luminaries come together to celebrate veterans and the service they provide to our country.

The event, which was held Oscar weekend at the luxurious Intercontinental Hotel, was a gathering of veterans, celebrities, sponsors, and distinguished guests. They were treated to Halo Smile treatments, walked the red carpet, were interviewed by many media outlets, and enjoyed a three-course Italian-inspired buffet with a multitude of lavish desserts. Later in the evening, producer Suzanne DeLaurentiis presented the veterans with plaques commending their service.

“It was the only Oscars event that honored the Veterans,” says Dukes, “I could not think of a better cause to support. Both of my grandfathers served in the military and I have two cousins on active duty. I just wanted to put out the goodwill and karma as an example for other business to follow suit and sponsor veterans. They do so much for our country.”

Dukes originally moved to Los Angeles as an actor/stuntman and worked steadily in the entertainment industry until the early 2000’s. In 2006, he founded Dukes Wealth Management while he and his wife lived in a humble one-bedroom apartment in North Hollywood. He began building loyal clients through his no-nonsense financial advice and honesty. “There are a lot of us who are fortunate to be where we are in life, so I feel it’s very important to give back to the community that helped me be where I am today,” he says.

In addition to supporting veterans causes, Dukes and his wife are known for being thought-leaders and philanthropists in the Los Angeles community. Practicing what he preaches, Dukes currently serves Board of Directors for WeSpark, a non-profit cancer support center in Sherman Oaks, and are proud donors of The BumbleBee Foundation which gives financial assistance to families with children suffering from pediatric cancer.

“I encourage other business to support non-profits and charities that they think are viable and worthwhile,” he says.
