Exploding Kittens
This strange foray into the inner working of Matthew Inman’s brain brings a delightfully fun, yet explosive, game to the tabletop.

- Players: 2–5; 7 years and older
- Play time: 15–20 minutes
- Main mechanic: Press Your Luck
- Price: £20.00 (Amazon.co.uk)
What do you get when you mix cats, explosives, and Abracrab Lincoln? A surprisingly fun press-your-luck game.
In Exploding Kittens, the last thing you want to do is draw a card. You never know what could be next. And whilst it could be something useful, like Abracrab Lincoln helping you shuffle the deck, or a Furmaid letting you see the future, it could also be an explosion-loving kitten out to get you. And if you find one of these Exploding Kittens, and you don’t have a defuse to get rid of them, you’re out.
So, you need to use your opening hand of cards, and push your luck a little, to cause your other players to draw from the deck, hoping they’ll fall victim to the explosive little kitties before you do.
How To Play
Exploding Kittens is a very simple game to play. So, here’s the creator, Matt Inman, to show you how:
If you’d like to play with more players, you can add another deck to take the game up to 9 players.

For The Grown-Ups
For the over-18’s among us, there’s the NSFW edition of Exploding Kittens. It’s the same game, with the same number and types of cards, but with a much more explicit theme. This game is strictly for those over 18, and comes in a black box, so you know it’s gonna be good.

And if you already own Exploding Kittens, the NSFW deck is completely compatible, so can be used to up the game to 9 players.
The Inevitable Heat Death of the Universe
With all these explosions, there has to be some kind of aftermath. The First Expansion to Exploding Kittens, called Imploding Kittens, brings it all back together. Adding new attack and future cards, Imploding Kittens takes my favourite explosion-based cat offspring-featuring game to the next level. And the Cone of Shame adds a kindly reminder to never forget which direction you’re going.
Imploding Kittens is an expansion for Exploding Kittens and Exploding Kittens: NSFW Edition. It adds 20 new cards, the Cone of Shame, and lets you play with up to 6 players with one deck, or 10 players with two decks.
