Each fabric has different properties. Structural properties of the fabric, usage performance, market and price information are important when choosing fabric for fashion design products. The fashion designer needs to do research on these.

In addition, many factors such as the characteristics of the target audience, function, fashion of the day, production conditions, cost are interrelated. Fabric selection plays a big role in design.

Fabrics have their own textures. In order to express this textured structure correctly in the illustration drawings you will present your designs, you must choose your materials well. It is important that the paper and coloured pencils you will use are of good quality. While making fabric illustration, it will be good to interpret by looking at the real fabric. We have added the fabric samples that we have included in this application under the education title. If you don’t have real fabric, you can examine them by printing.

Denim, also known as jean fabric, is a cotton fabric. The warp yarn is dyed with a special dye called indigo.

It was first sewn in the 19th century by Levi Strauss as a heavy-duty suit. It is still one of the most popular fabrics today. One of the most well-known features of this fabric material is that it gets dirty late and does not show dirt much. As it is washed, its color becomes lighter due to the dye used.

In this part of the Fashion Design Course from Beginner to Advanced, we will examine and draw the denim fabric. Then we will apply the denim fabric on the model.

In this drawing, let’s combine jeans with a puritan collar, low sleeve, oversized shirt model.

We will draw a midi length, high waist, side pockets, loose fit, belted jeans. This is a very trendy model lately. Let’s get a stylish look by completing this combination with high heeled short boots with front zipper.
