Thinking of Collaborating with Me? Read This First!
I have recently watched the film AIR, and I really enjoyed it. The movie tells the story of shoe salesman Sonny Vaccaro, and how he led Nike in its pursuit of the greatest athlete in the history of basketball, Michael Jordan.
Romio and I had some fascinating discussions around the movie, and one key thing that stood out in our conversation was the values set by Nike.
We explored how these values accompanied them throughout their journey and how they were perceived and adopted by Sonny and his team while working for Nike.
As my ambition is to build an organisation that can last generations, we decided it would be beneficial to reflect on my entrepreneurship and personal life.
The goal was to identify key values in my life and understand how I could use them to build an excellent organisational culture for CareScore.
After reflecting over the past few days, here are what I believe my core values to be:
- I value people who are genuine and authentic.
- Honesty isn’t always easy; I admire those who strive to be honest.
- Despite challenges, I stay positive and resilient, never blaming others.
- I trust my intuition during significant decision-making.
- Mistakes are human; forgiveness is divine. I practice both.
- I use stumbling blocks as stepping stones.
- I respect others’ religious, social, and political beliefs.
- My entrepreneurial journey is about enhancing life in care homes.
- I value innovation, adaptability, and love tackling tough problems.
- I value a culture of openness, transparency, and equality.
- Good relationships are my priority.
- I seek talented individuals to realise their potential.
I have my reasons for listing each point here, and I would like anyone who works with me to understand and reflect on them, to see if they can align with me, respecting and endorsing these values.
