The crowdsale will give supporters the opportunity to make a venture investment in a collection of promising tech start-ups.
The Starta’s ICO will begin today at 13:00 UTC. Participants will purchase tokens that reflect an investment in a minimum of 21 Eastern European early-stage tech companies, and potentially up to 70 if the maximum funding is secured.
Investors can use Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Litecoin (LTC) and Waves (WAVES) to purchase Starta tokens.
The minimum investment is $1.
Starta is targeting a minimum of $1.5 million, with a cap of $5 million.
The funds collected will be used by Cross Coin, a Singapore-based company, to purchase stakes in the companies that make up the Starta Accelerator programme. The accelerator trains and prepares these start-ups to access the US market, where they will secure customers, expand and ultimately attract further funding: an ‘exit’. Cross Coin is targeting a 10–20x increase in valuation before sale, and proceeds from each exit will be used to buy Starta tokens off the open market, returning value to investors.
