CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure topic review — 3.0 Transport Technology and Solutions
This is my second review and it will be on section 3 of the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure blueprint. Section 3.0 Transport Technology and Solutions focuses on MPLS and DMVPN. I must admit this area wasn’t very exciting for me since this isn’t a new areas in the CCIE. This was more of a refresher than anything else.
In my personal opinion this area is solid and has lots of good training options so it’s easy to prepare. This area makes up 15% of the scoring, depth is very important but just enough that is relevant, you don’t want to waste to much time learning when you have other areas that have 30% and 25% weighting to cover.
Resource list I used for this first review were:
INE (subscription) section 4 of the learning path
I started of with JP Cendeno material as my first choice. His videos cover everything you need to know about MPLS at the Enterprise Infrastructure level. The labs are easy to setup yourself in your EVE-NG console.
Next also looked at INE as they have complete videos for the section. Again it was easy to follow. INE also have deep dive training into each of the topics so you can explore even more of it’s capabilities. These are Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) — Deep Dive and Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) - Deep Dive
All in all remember your under lay has to be properly configured for these to work as expected. These areas aren’t too intense, there exist well documented information with white papers and configuration guides on the Cisco documentation portal. It only makes up 15% of the total score so as someone on the CCIE path this area should be fun learning.
Next review would be 1.0 Network Infrastructure which carries the majority of the weighting at (30%).
