Startup Grind and Summit Live Takeaways
On February 20–21st, the StarTime crew attended the Startup Grind in Redwood City. Other notable companies and apps in attendance were founders of Waze, Tinder, Zynga, and Twitch (to name a few). This was a bustling networking event of open bars, good food, and great presentations from leadership in the tech industry. StarTime were newcomers to this event, and as such, we had a lot of questions and curiosities about our technology and the unique platform that allows fans to engage “face-to-face with their favorite celebrities.” Other attendees had traveled from as far as China and Russia with the goals of getting the word out about their brands and being able to create collaborative partnership. And what tech event wouldn’t be complete without the appearance of a robot…..
Although the Startup Grind continued through the 22nd, StarTime had an engagement down south, and boarded a plane to the flashy city of Los Angeles. Summit Live is an event for influencers and brands involved in live streaming, and it was an ideal time the week leading up to the Oscars. In fact, the Millennium Biltmore in downtown L.A. was hosting Summit Live (as well as the StarTime crew), and is well-known as the setting for many television shows and movies. Within the 3 days of this event, the filming of Veep with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ballers with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a TV commercial, and pre-Oscars red carpet engagement were all on site. Presenters at Summit Live were influencers like GiniCanBreathe, Diana Mae Fernandez, YoPickles, Kyle Kittleson, and Alex Khan. Names like these are well-known on live streaming platforms for their content creation, business strategies, and leadership in their areas of expertise. StarTime had the opportunity to do a TalkShow with some of these well-known faces, as well as be represented on the Dr. Walter Sims radio show and featured in the community Dolls Mastermind.
