Tiffany Spina: “I just want women in general to love themselves.” (Episode 20/S3 Ep2)
Our guest today is my fellow “hipster” Mom, Tiffany Spina, whose baby was diagnosed and treated for hip dysplasia. DDH (developmental dysplasia of the hips) in young children can really turn the parents’ lives upside down. And to come out of it with such grace and positivity in itself is admirable.
All in a day’s work for Tiffany. She is a space planner by day and by night (and every other available hour), a health coach helping and supporting Moms who want to get their health back. It was not only inspiring to listen to her story, but as bonus we were joined by two very special surprise guests — Tiffany’s adorable children. Happy listening!

Age: 30 years
Bio:
I’m just a meal prepping mama who loves fitness, wine and interior design! During the day I’m a Space Planner in Washington, DC. But I’m also a fitness and nutrition Coach with a mission to help women to love themselves by discovering their strength and confidence.
Fun fact:
My husband and I are high school sweethearts. We met on the very first day of high school, before school even started, when I fell down the stairs in front of him. We laugh that I literally fell for him!
What childcare option did you go with for your child(ren)? Why?
Our children attend a Reggio Emilia-inspired daycare/school. We’ve tried at-home daycares and even a nanny, but our kids are thriving in this school-like atmosphere where the learning is based upon their daily interests and imagination. Not only are they learning more and improving their social skills, but they’re both eager to learn as much as they possibly can. The Reggio Emilia-inspired school is truly a wonderful place to foster their learning and development.
How do you continue to work on your professional growth with motherhood in the balance?
I do my best to conduct business during my commute on the train each day, being as efficient with my time as possible. I’m also making use of online courses to continue to grow my knowledge on wholistic nutrition while commuting.
How do you proactively network given the constraints of motherhood?
I prefer to refer to my networking as simply making new friends! I’m always active in social media groups, offering free advice and truly just looking to build genuine relationships with other women. I’ve found there must be a foundation of friendship before a business relationship develops.
In what ways does your spouse/family/friends support you and how much does that factor into your success?
My husband is so incredibly supportive. He has a business-focused mind, so he’s constantly funneling me new ideas and giving me an outside perspective of my business. My children are also completely entwined in my business — they exercise with me and try all of the crazy recipes I find!
