Startup 001: The need
Don’t even think of leaving your job.
Startup bug has bitten the world. Internet has made starting a new venture so easy that a person sitting in remote areas of Asia is dreaming of creating his own business. A girl operating a small boutique is teaching the world to make up using YouTube and selling her products through Facebook. Her #Fashion hastag is giving her far more outreach than any traditional marketing trick could.
Everyday we see many college graduates, young professionals talking sharing their dreams and starting up. At times corporate people filing their resignation for amazing journey. Many of our colleagues have sold their companies while some others have thriving businesses.
When we started there were too less mentors around and less business models to understand. This made us make many mistakes and we never stopped from there. We still are making mistakes but getting stronger. Mistakes are our best teachers.
While all this sounds amazing, starting up without proper research and brainstorming can lead to some real drastic implications right from psychological to professional to personal issues.
As startup founders face such issues very often, at times it takes a toll on the company. Sometimes they bounce back quickly and manage the damage but there are times when the company and employees are impacted severely.
Lastly everyone these days is giving advice on one or other stuff but actual starting up. We at BeyondStartups want to help people starting up with our initiative “Startup 101”. We’ll write about Why to startup, how to startup and factors one needs to consider before starting up.
We also understand it’s difficult to follow every advice that’s out there but it’s equally important to start.
“The journey of a 1000 miles starts with a single step.” :)
