I have been obsessed with Canva’s new AI feature for the last couple of days. I mean, really! Exploring this tool has been the most fulfilling experience ever.

I had heard of Midjourneys and DALL-Es and other groundbreaking AI tools before but never really explored them that much.

However, last weekend, I decided to give this new Canva AI tools “a try,” and just like any great relationship, it was love at first sight.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about — Canva has this new app called “Magic Media,” which gives you an opportunity to jot down your ideas, and it makes visuals out of them — simply magical!

For example, you write: “Panda is wearing a blue jacket, and he is calling his business partner to discuss personal matters. It is happening in New York, and the weather is a bit rainy.” bla bla bla bla bla — IT WORKS!

A couple of prompts later, AI transformed me from a creative copywriter mode to a full-blown magical designer mode — A totally new level unlocked!

Check Out Some of the AI Animal Art Pieces I Made

Flamingo

The first character I wanted to create was Flamingo. This is because they are very stylish and fun characters. Imagine Flamingo drinking wine in the space. Must be interesting, huh?

Zebra

Zebras are mostly intelligent, creative animals that have huge fantasies. I mean, they are basically horses but with stripes. That takes a lot of creativity, in my opinion.

So, let’s make our Zebra express his creativity with drawing.

Panda

For some reason, I have a feeling that Pandas should be great musicians. Don’t you agree? They have this vibe of being extremely good at playing instruments well.

Cheetah

All of the Cheetahs must have a good taste. Look at all the animals they are eating — they surely must know how to cook well in the most fascinating ways possible.

Cheetah, the MasterChef

Fox

Foxes are great travelers. I think we should all agree on that. Imagine him hanging out in the streets of Paris, sipping his Chai Latte, and thinking about his future plans.

How Does It Work?

The process is super simple. Here are the steps to make it happen for you:

  • Create a file in Canva where you will play around with these designs. Ideally, it should be a square with a size of 1080 x 1080px.
  • Head to the left-hand side and choose “Apps” from the menu.
  • Search for the “Magic Media” app in the search box.
  • Choose the first result & open the Magic Media app.
  • Enjoy!

After opening the tool, you will see this box that says “Text to Image.” This is where you should write your prompt.

Try to be as descriptive as possible when it comes to telling the tool what to draw. Describe the scene in detail and tell the tool all about the idea you have — background, colors, attributes, and everything else.

Then, choose the style you want your drawing to be — filmic, dreamy, anime, etc.

You can even adjust the aspect ratio based on your needs.

And finally, click the “Create your image” button and check the results.

This tool gives you 4 different results for each prompt. You can either choose one of them and work with it or click 3 dot button on your favorite image and click “Generate more like this.”

After slowly adding different attributes to your idea and perfecting your prompt, you will get the result you want.

Congrats, my friend, you’re a true artist now!

What Opportunities Does It Open for the Future?

I personally think that these kinds of tools open up a massive set of opportunities for creators online.

Creating top-notch covers for your blog posts, videos, or digital products is not so much of a hassle anymore.

I wouldn’t say it’s super simple to prompt something that sparks attention at first sight, but all I’m saying is that it really accelerates the process. Doesn’t it?

Thanks to these AI tools, online creators like me can expand their production, helping them expand their business production with fewer resources.

How will I personally use this in my production?

No idea for now — currently, I’m still in the exploration phase, which is driven by this huge interest, and I don’t know where this interest will take me.

In any case, I believe some interesting ideas will come up as a result of this “playing around with AI tools.” — interesting journey ahead!

Let me know about your favorite AI tools that you're obsessed with. I’m interested to hear them. Let’s connect!
