Boston Startup Week: Connecting the Boston Startup Ecosystem

Last summer is when I first heard of TechStar’s Startup Week. I was out in San Diego when I heard about a startup bar crawl they were doing and decided to crash it (not realizing until I saw their lead organizer wearing a pink elephant costume that it was part bar-crawl, part-costume-contest… but that’s another story)..

Pink elephants aside, what really stood out was not just that there were thousands upon thousands of entrepreneurs and startup enthusiasts and supporters at this event, but the epic support system that this community had built for its entrepreneurs.

Everyone at this event was excited to share their knowledge with the community and to support fellow founding teams achieve their goals. It was inspiring. And awesome. And I felt as though I was becoming a part of something incredible — even though I had only been in the city for a few hours.

As a Massachusetts native, I was left wondering, “How come Boston hasn’t done something like this yet?”

I’m sure you can take an educated guess due to the title of this post about what’s happened since — enter Boston’s first Startup Week! September 18th — 22nd, 2017.

What you NEED (and want) to know

The purpose of this week is to truly connect the entire Boston startup ecosystem. We have a huge number of awesome startups and resources for them, but so many seem to go unnoticed by each other and much of the city at large. It’s time that we bridge the gap with something BIG: a week of events to celebrate our community, connect our ecosystem, and learn from one another.

Whether you’re a founder, an employee, a student, investor, or startup enthusiast, Boston Startup Week will have an event for you. We’re organizing over forty events between Boston and Cambridge — workshops, panels, classes, networking events, and more.

This post is just a teaser; right now we’re confirming speakers (interested?) sponsors (want to be a part of this?), and scheduling. But we’ll start announcing speakers and sessions soon, so sign up for our mailing list to stay in the loop! We’re looking forward to putting on an event that does our great startup community justice. Save the date, and please, spread the word!
