This is another glimpse at one of six tracks we’re filling with workshops, panels, and other sessions at Boston Startup Week, September 18th-22nd. To see the full schedule, sign up for our newsletter so we can let you know when it’s announced.

While our Ideas and Fundraising tracks focus on the start of your company, our Operations track encompasses the many functions needed to grow your company. Hiring, offices, managing teams, incorporating customer feedback, and handling all the choices about which direction you’ll take your product and how your team will work on it.

The stories we hear about successful startups often make it seem like their path was a continually progressing line driven by development & marketing alone, but the reality is startup journeys are filled with mistakes, backtracking, changes of direction, and held-back progress, only unblocked by the dedicated efforts of operations & product teams working to remove blockers, spread the information needed to make smarter choices, and create processes to support scale.

You’ll find value in this track if you are:

  • the founder of a just-funded or hitting-your-stride startup on the verge of doing significant scaling.
  • an operations professional that wants to hear from your peers how they’re handling the same challenges.
  • a product manager or other leader that sits at the intersection of (customer / market / business model / feedback) interpretation & product-growing execution.
  • anyone thinking about the challenges of building, managing, and supporting great teams.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn from some of the most successful leaders in our community. For instance, Stefania Mallett, the CEO of ezCater — which just hired their 200th employee. With her company having raised almost $70 million in funding, and working with over 50,000 restaurants and caterers nation-wide, you won’t want to miss Stefania’s session, From 2 to 200: Building a High-Growth Company.

The startup journey is filled with challenges, but an operations skillset helps prevent & overcome many of them.
