Regardless of how a game is going or the difference in talent between the teams, you always have a chance to score on set pieces. Set pieces and restarts are unique in soccer since they are the only chances for the team to stop and set everything up the way they want it for the best chance of success. Typically a team will have a few specialists on the roster that excel at taking set pieces or winning head balls. Taking full advantage of set pieces, both on offense and defense, is often the difference between championship teams and also-rans.

Tiger Teams have a very similar motive in that you can assemble specialists to tackle a specific problem. Getting the right people together in the right position is an incredibly effective way of solving a complicated problem you may be experiencing. It’s your chance to stop, take stock of what the issue is, align the right people behind it, and give it shot.
