NEW YORK — Matt Sherman, financial analyst at Brookman-Geary, opened up to reporters Thursday night stating that he finally started paying attention to work meetings after exhausting all other things that he could possibly do.

One particular meeting, titled “Updated Q2 Flowcharts,” was scheduled by Sherman’s manager via Outlook two months before the meeting date. Sherman admits that despite the amount of time he had to prepare, he simply didn’t bring enough material to sustain him throughout the two-hour meeting.

Sherman added that he began the meeting fairly strong, by making doodles of houses in his notebook and occasionally raising his hand to ask the universal question, “How will this be reflected in our bottom line going forward” to ward off any accusations of his lack of attention.

“But then it got me around the half hour mark. I made all the doodles I could, checked my FB, Insta, Snaps, even looked at the ‘Deals of the Day’ on Groupon. I eventually got so bored, I actually started listening to the Q2 results,” said Sherman.

When asked about what he thought about the contents of the meeting, Sherman replied, “It could have all been summarized in an email.”
