Earlier today I was reading a piece from Ellie Daforge explaining that Millennials couldn’t ‘save’ their way to success — she’s right. Giving up coffee and avocado toast won’t help you build a great business — building a great business is the only way to do that. Millennials are struggling because they’ve rejected basic American values like capitalism and entrepreneurship. Story after story describes how Millennials are struggling to afford their student loans and basic housing. Interestingly members of Generation Z aren’t falling into the same trap — they’ve embraced the American Dream and are poised to become the most entrepreneurial in our nation’s history.

Alina Morse was only seven when she caught the entrepreneurial bug and started what would become Zollipops. She decided to make a lollipop that reduced plaque and oral bacteria. Today more than seven thousand stores, including Whole Foods, carry Alina’s lollipops. Alina manages a staff of six and will generate more than $6 million in revenue this year.

I wrote Gen Z Startup to give entrepreneurs like Alina Morse a leg up. If you’re thinking about starting your own business you should give it a read (if you can’t afford the paperback or kindle edition DM me and I’ll send you a free copy).

Generation Z is now the largest generation in the United States and is the best educated and most diverse in our country’s history. They’re also the most likely to build their own businesses — just like Alina. For more information about Generation Z check out the Gen Z Trends Report HERE.

The Millennials gave up on the American Dream — it turns out Generation Z are already living it…
