Disruptive Technologies was started by Erik Fossum Færvaag in 2014 with the vision to create the worlds smallest and most energy-efficient IoT sensors. 5 years, 300 million NOK and many sleepless nights later, the Disruptive Technologies team is ready to roll out their solutions to the connected world and create new opportunities for innovation and business in companies small and large all over the world.
Many sleepless nights later
During his founder story, Erik was the first to admit that building Disruptive Technologies has not been a dance on roses. Like the night he realized that their entire production strategy had to be scrapped, and a new production line had to be created from scratch.
“I woke up in the middle of the night and had to check an email where I realized my instinct was right — we would have to start all over with a new production stragtegy. ” — Erik Færvaag — founder Dirsruptive Tehnologies
Now, 2 years after realizing that their production plan was going to fail, they have a high-quality production facility dedicated to production of their sensors.
These are the sensors the participants in the workshop are testing during today's workshop.
Creating new business opportunities for entrepreneurs
Disruptive Technologies has partnered up with Startup Norway to create a workshop and hackathon to share with new entrepreneurs how their technology can create opportunities for innovation and business creation that was never before possible.
The first workshop was held at Startup Campus on September 4th 2019. Kicking off with the founder story from Erik Fossum Færvaag, before the innovators had the opportunity to get a pilot kit in their hands, and get dirty in setting up integrations and creating a sensor dashboard.
Disruptive Technologies is a 100% sensor data company, leaning on other partners to create dashboard technologies and interpretation of the data. In the workshop, Keith Reed from DevicePilot was thus asked to support the participants with their platform on how to showcase data from the sensors.
Didrik Dimmen was one of the participants in the workshop. After running into a wall with his last aggressive startup, FlowMotion, https://flowmotion.co, he is now back on the street looking for a new startup to either join or start. With the Distruptive Technologis technology, new opportunities are created for innovation that has never been possible before.

Niklas Norin from Disruptive Technologies shows how companies are finding amazing and un-thought of use cases with their small sensors. Like this monitoring of fuse temperature, alerting for heat and overload in the fuse.
