Autumn in Valencia: time for tech & innovation events

Despite the cancellation of some major events that were going to take place in the Mediterranean city, Autumn looks bright for startups and entrepreneurs.

Several conferences and events that were going to be held in Valencia during May, June and July had to be cancelled or rescheduled due to the world pandemic crisis. Nevertheless, Autumn has always been the shining time for startups and entrepreneurs in the city and this year won’t be any different — if the situation keeps improving.

As in any other sector, events must also be adapted to comply with the regulations and legislation on preventive measures and action protocols for the protection of public health published at a state and regional level. Assistants will have to forget about networking as it used to be, conferences will have a limit of attendees, virtual events will be organized to support the physical ones and hydroalcoholic gels will be more present than ever.

Upcoming events in Valencia

The Valencian entrepreneurial ecosystem plans’ for 2020 have been completely changed in a matter of two months. Some events such as CTO Summit or DreamHack that were initially planned for May and July respectively have been postponed to October and November; whereas others such as Valencia Digital Summit have been able to maintain their initial plans.

For third year in a row, Startup Valencia will organise Valencia Digital Summit at the Palau de les Artes Reina Sofía located in the City of Arts and Sciences the 25th of November — Get your free tickets here!

This third edition will have as its central motto the #CityOfTalent campaign launched last February in #TheOthersBCN20 that aims to highlight the amount of talent held in the city thanks to Valencia’s education system and its strong entrepreneurial culture. COVID-19 solutions and adaptability to the so-called “new normal” will be also discussed by some attending speakers.

After the main conference, entrepreneurs and investors will have the opportunity to meet the most prominent startups during the II edition of Valencia Investors Day, where startups will pitch their business to top-tier investors and meet with like-minded entrepreneurs and investors. Those who pitched last year managed to achieve all their financial goals thanks to the connections made during Valencia Investors Day.

Ftalks Food Summit

After the success of its first edition, KM ZERO Open Innovation Hub has brought together the main global experts and disruptors of the transformation in the food ecosystem to Ftalks to discuss the trends and challenges of the sector through inspiring talks and networking events. The event, focused on sustainability and health, will take place the 15th and 16th of October in Valencia where assistants will listen to success stories from speakers such as Didier Toubia, co-founder and CEO of Aleph Farms.

DreamHack

DreamHack, the largest digital eSports festival in the world, celebrates its 10th anniversary in our country from the 9th to the 11th of October through an online platform. The organisation behind the event, that was initially planned to take place from the 3rd to the 5th of July, recently announced the cancellation of the physical event scheduled for the 8th to the 12th of October to guarantee the security of all attendees. Last year edition was a total success: it gathered more than 65.000 people! Let’s see what will the 10th edition bring up.

CTO Summit

CTO Summit, organised by GeeksHubs, was also reschedule due to the coronavirus crisis. The second edition of the first national event focused on CTOs and IT teams will take place the 20th and 21st of November at the Palacio de Congresos in Valencia. You can get your tickets here!

VLC Startup Week

Valencia Startup Week will celebrate this year’s edition from the 20th to the 27th of November. Seven days of workshops, meetups, conferences and different activities that bring founders, entrepreneurs, corporations and investors together to forge new meaningful relationships.
