The Heart of the French Tech

This morning we left Paris to go to London, stopping by Lille. And Stephanie joined Hubert and I to continue the trip with us for a few days.

I have to admit it today was the first time I’d ever been to Lille. But who can blame me? I mean I come from the South of France…

Anyway, for my first time in Lille the sun was shining. That alone would have been enough to amaze me for a week.

We stopped by Lille on our way to London to meet Euratechnologies.

Euratech is one of the oldest start-up incubators in France. This place is just huge. It is set in an old textile factory, which was a pretty big deal in the region back then.

They were pumped to have us visit them, which made the whole thing even better. We gave a small speech in front of a group of determined entrepreneurs to present them OneRagtime, our Start-up Hunt, and obviously our pitch competition. Actually I feel like we didn’t even have to tell them about this pitch competition, all of them were already signed up. That’s amazing.

We got to take a selfie with them, and then we met all of them one to one. This was a great afternoon. These guys really are talented entrepreneurs and we can’t wait to see how far they’ll go.

At the same time we kept learning more and more about Euratechnologies. The more we learned, the better it got. They have everything; strong corporate support, great entrepreneurs, a facility that would make the most successful accelerator worldwide jealous, a pool of talent available at their doorstep…

There is not much more I can say about this afternoon beside that it was perfect, even though it went super fast.

We already had to leave, but we’ll be back there very soon.

Now it’s time for us to board on the Eurostar direction London for more start-up fun.
