Coca Cola Challenge: BOOM

We are Alike team. While participating in the Start-up Lab, we accepted the Coca Cola challenge. What the company really wanted was to create an app, powered by Coca Cola, which doesn’t advertise the product directly, but in a subtler way. The target group. is 13–19 and the values that we tried to promote were three: Awareness, Live, Love. We chose this project because we find the aimed group challenging and interesting, as we still feel close to them and we can possibly understand their needs and problems.

Since we mentioned the values that Coca Cola addressed to us, we thought of the value proposition of our product.
First of all, we answered three basic questions: WHY, HOW and WHAT. The results of the answers were essential to make us come up with an idea and move forward. As a result, we wanted to create a community where every teen is acceptable. The most suitable way to do that is through the construction of an interactive app. Thus, BOOM app is a game which helps teens socialize.
To make this happen, we did a research on the market that we attempt to insert. We found that there are around 1.000.000 people from 15–19. If we land the 5% of this number through the next 18 months, nearly 54.000 sales will be achieved.
The way to have an income will be through the creation of a premium version. We will also have a free version, but for those who want extra service, we will offer them that chance.
One of the most essential aspects of creating something new and innovative is competition. We checked our competitors and the table below shows our strong traits:
