“Our start-up story: Hush”

The case

This year’s start-up lab, from ADandPRLab in collaboration with Antenna music — with Betty Tsakarestou and Domnika Skreta — gave us the challenge of creating our own start-up, in the field of audio and radio innovation. Using skills, tools and knowledge we gotthroygh our sessions, combined with what we have already learnt in ADandPRLab so far, we were able to develop and schedule our business plan and present a complete startup idea.

Our idea

Our team (AD-just), inspired by the overall need of relaxation and stress reduction, and motivated by our love for ASMR — originating from our own experience with it — wanted to think of a way to combine it with other techniques, in an audio application. Thinking of a general field where ASMR could fit and other activities from the same field, after doing a short research on the competition and the potentials, we came up with our idea: and that’s how “Hush” was born!

So, what is it exactly? “Hush” is a relaxation app, that combines a variety of services to help you relax and stay calm. With relaxation techniques, yoga, meditation and ASMR audio, it is the ultimate relaxation companion.

More specifically, “Hush” will contain ASMR sessions in audio, both with pure triggers and talking, by professional greek ASMRtists, playlists with relaxing background music, guided yoga and meditation sessions, positive affirmations in audio, breath techniques and tips for relaxation at home.

To make all that possible, we will have partnerships, with some greek ASMRtists, a life coach and a yoga center in Athens for some special services. The app will be available in both free and premium version and it will be downloadable from providers like Play store and App store. Premium users will have benefits like ad free navigation and exclusive content

Other features of the app will be the option of a dark theme, timer and alarm clock, ability to create a profile and connect it with other social media, create personalized playlists and listen to content based on your preferences.

Our target audience consists mainly of people who suffer from stress and anxiety problems or even sleep disorders, have a very busy and stressful life and need to relax, and people who are already familiar with activities like yoga, meditation or ASMR and would like to have it all in just one app!

The application will be viable thanks to the premium subscriptions, the advertising opportunities and space it will offer in the free version and profits from the collaboration with the yoga center.

In the future, we plan to also include some podcasts, short ASMR interviews and audio spots with health and nutrition tips and create a website that will have a seconadry and role, including the longform of the interviews, articles from our life coach and other posts on relaxation, well-being or ASMR.

“Hush” will actually be the first application, with greek content, to combine both mediatation and ASMR, to offer the best and most complete relaxation experience.
