The Open Coffee experience

During our full-time university course at #ADandPRlab, we have attended various events .So, this time, we attended an event called “Open Coffee” which took place in the Benaki Museum,at Friday,5th April.

So,what is “Open Coffee” after-all?

Open Coffee is an event and it has been established as the meeting point of the start up community. Once a month, people who create, work, or simply care about technology and business renew their appointment in order to learn, exchange experiences and contacts, and ultimately cooperate in their next attempt.

The event is consisted of revolutionary ideas, products made in Greece that we use everywhere, wherever we are, and investments that seemed precious to us to be unfeasible.

Open Coffee,in overall, is a start-up networking with the presence of coffee.

After we grabbed coffee and set in our positions was time to attend the start up presentations.

The presentations of start-up companies

During the event the were three start-ups presentations, among them, BibeCoffee,Geekbot and Epignosis, which will be further analyzed below.

Vasilis Apostolopoulos and Panos Vrettos created and developed a device compatible with every coffee machine, providing all crucial information that coffee producers, distributors and retailers need to know in real time. What it does is to send and create data that has to translate to customers. By this way, it makes familiar what is happening in the coffee machine in any time.

At BibeCoffee we believe that the World of Coffee needs to get technologically enhanced with solutions that will guarantee the highest quality of coffee everywhere!

Nikos Papanotas, the founder of Geekbot, formed a service that creates stand up meetings, which are about service / start-up meetings and replaces them with a group chat. All answers are sended with bots, which are put on a group chat. As a result, all employees are informed directly and can offer and create on it.

What did they do right when Geekbot began to come out on the market?

-Main concern was the perfecting of the existing product.
-Support used as a feature of the product.
1. To receive good feedback
2. To create relationships with customers
-Even in the beginning, the price of the sale was expensive:
They assert that the customer will offer a higher amount if he / she considers that a service / product is important.
Customer’s feedback confirm this view.

Multiple companies trust Geekbot among them Sony, Shopify, Salesforce, Zappos.com, AIG. However, it would be an omission not to mention that before success there were a few unsuccessful products: Socialwhale,Instabuck,Collab.email and Monitor (which was sold).

After all,it’s about the product.
