Made by Google 2024 presentation in August: what to expect?
The annual Made by Google presentation is scheduled to take place on August 13th this year. It will reveal various new products from Google – for example, it is already known that the release of the new generation of Pixel 9 smartphones will be announced at the event. Let’s look at what other product announcements can be expected this year.
Pixel 9 smartphones
A few days ago, the company released a video teaser where it introduced two new smartphones – Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. About ⅔ of the video was devoted to the integration of the Gemini AI chatbot into smartphones: according to the plot, the bot is asked to generate a breakup letter for an old smartphone in order to meet something new and magical.
Pixel 9 Pro is equipped with a new camera version: now it resembles an oblong capsule in shape and protrudes more massively from the rear panel of the smartphone.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a foldable smartphone that is almost identical to the standard one, but the camera is shifted to the left and two lenses are located on top of each other. The model is made more elongated with thinner frames.
In total, four new devices are expected in the Pixel line: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Premium. All of them should be equipped with Google’s latest Tensor G4 chip and run on Android 15.
OS Android 15
The latest beta version of Android 15 came out last week, and the official release is expected after the presentation. New already announced features include improved multitasking and satellite communications support. There will also be an incognito mode, Private Space, with which you can further protect confidential information on your smartphone. In addition, options have been improved to extend the battery life of the device.
Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2
The presentation is also expected to reveal new models of watches and in-ear headphones from Google. There are quite a few details about what these new products will look like. The watch is expected to be available in four colors – black, grey, pink and beige – and will come in two versions – with Wi-Fi and 4G support. And in the headphones case, a 650 mAh battery is expected, which should extend their battery life by several hours compared to the previous model.
Google Assistant
There are various speculations on technology blogs about the fate of Google Assistant after the presentation. There is a possibility that the company will gradually phase out this service, replacing it with the Gemini chatbot – or, conversely, integrate the bot into the assistant, thereby strengthening its functionality.
