Top 4 new products presented by Samsung at Galaxy Unpacked 2024
Last week, Samsung held its annual Galaxy Unpacked 2024 presentation, where it introduced several new gadgets, including a new generation of foldable smartphones, a smart ring and wireless headphones. Let’s take a quick look at the main products presented.
Foldable smartphones Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6
The main new items of the presentation are the latest versions of two foldable smartphones Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The new models are built on the eight-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset; they have become even thinner and lighter than their predecessors.
As you would expect, much attention was paid to the integration of AI into devices.
In particular, smartphones received support from Google’s Gemini chatbot. It is integrated with some pre-installed apps – for example, in Google Maps it can help you plan a trip, find information about flights and hotels, and suggest interesting attractions. You can also ask the tool to generate an email, answer a question, make a plan, find information about a clip on YouTube, etc.
The devices will also feature the manufacturer’s own AI system, Galaxy AI – in particular, it will be able to transcribe, translate and summarize voice messages, translate PDF files and offer improved hints when typing.
Smart ring Galaxy Ring
The company announced the development of the Galaxy Ring in January of this year. The device turned out to be quite laconic: it is a small monochromatic ring in black or gold without an external display. With its help, it will be possible to monitor your health status around the clock, primarily based on sleep indicators. The Galaxy AI-enabled device can assess sleep quality based on sleep duration, heart rate and variability, breathing rate and the user’s skin temperature. One charge should be enough for a week of battery life.
Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Buds 3 Wireless In-Ear Headphones
The new headphones are available in silver and white colors. Unlike previous versions, here LED strips have been added to the case, reflecting the charge level of each earphone separately. The Pro version features improved silicone ear tips. As follows from the presentation, the Pro version is intended for connoisseurs of sound quality, and the Buds 3 holds a charge longer and is suitable for those who need to use the device for long periods of time.
The Pro version also comes with adaptive active noise cancellation and voice detection or external emergency alerts.
Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Ultra
Also presented are two new models of smart watches. The standard version is equipped with the latest processor and AI support, which can more accurately track various health indicators of the user. Watch Ultra belongs to the premium segment: it has a more powerful processor, new Wear OS 5, a number of additional functions and an improved battery that can withstand several days without recharging.
The official release date for all new products is July 24.
